I invite you to visit my website - www.haddon-hall.com - for scarce free downloadable materials on Haddon Hall and Dorothy Vernon. Included is an accurate libretto of the Grundy / Sullivan opera.

Hello to all at St David's. And greetings to all old friends. Do look me up if you're ever up in 't frozen north (see www.roomfield.co.uk) I always look in at the website from time to time and hope that on one of my now rare visits to Devon it just might co-incide with a St David's production or concert.
I was at Halifax Crematorium today (Feb 23rd) officiating at a funeral ... and the preceding committal Service was for John Reed. I arrived in advance of my own family just in time to hear the Committal for John and the strains of "I hear the soft note" played as his recessional. One of my boyhood heroes and until just a few years ago very much active still as a Director for one of our local societies and of course enthusiastic in support at Buxton. R.I.P. John; You had no equal!

Hello everybody! Glad to see that St. David's continues to thrive!...I pop in here from time to time to find out what you're up to and all the extra resources are handy as well, particularly as I don't have access to much G&S material of my own over here in Poland...As some of you may know, I now work on the first English Language Radio Station in Poland (www.radiowroclove.com) which can be heard worldwide over the internet, where I present an easy listening music show every sunday morning and often play G&S...I now have a small daughter, Helena, and life is treating me well out here, but I don't get as much opportunity to get back to the UK as I'd like now...I watched much of "Rose of Persia" on YouTube though and was very impressed, so I hope I can see you live again before too long...I have spotted a small error in your Past Productions cast lists though, which I'd be grateful if you could correct, particularly as it marked not only my debut with St. Davids, but also my first performance in an adult production...I know I was only 14 at the time and it's difficult to believe, but I was Leonard Meryll in the 1987 Yeomen, not Phil Hobbs...That aside, I wish you all the best & hope to see you soon...Philip

Very informative company, I love reading your website. The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Victoria in Australia has CD recordings of Haddon Hall & The Beauty Stone. The Beauty Stone I don't think was released to the company members although I have a copy. Also they have a VHS recording of Ivanhoe in stereo, (I have transfered it to DVD)it is over 10 years old, it may be available
